In the evening of October 6, Thursday, we attended the Regular Meeting of Viking Lodge No 175 in Gimli, MB.
The Grand Master was presented the traditional collar and jewel made of the dried fish with the wonderful smell.
With RWB Ted Zaik, WM of Viking Lodge No 175 after the Meeting. He did not seem to mind the smell of the dried fish. Maybe he had a cold.
Waiting for the tables to be set up for the Fish Fry dinner
I notice that some of them were trying to stay at a distance from me. I wonder why?
Everyone enjoyed the excellently cooked fish.
Here I am with some of those sitting in the East digging in and relishing the fish.
VWB Gil Strachan has cooked the fish for this annual event for the past 29 years. He has the perfect recipe and technique for cooking the fish.
Sharing some thoughts with the Brethren after the meal.
I did not win the 50/50 draw but I won one of the 19 Viking hats raffled off.
After the festive board, we drove back to Winnipeg.
When we got back to the city, we were treated at Tim Horton's by VWB Rudy MaraƱa, who won the 50/50 draw.
It was another excellent evening with Brethren.
